Region IV is in the process of revising our Emergency Response Plan. Part of this revision includes a review of the various methods used by licensees and this office to evaluate accident conditions. One of the areas we are reviewing involves independent evaluations of accident conditions where different values could be reported based on the particular method used in the evaluation.

1 During August and September 1981, Mr. J. B. Baird of this office will be visiting your facility to review certain aspects of your emergency assess-ment program. Mr. Baird will review such items as precedures for calculat-ing off-site doses, operating characteristics of monitoring equipment, and the immediate dissemination of data used in the assessment of accident conditions. Mr. Baird will contact the plant operations staff prior to l
