Docket Nos. 50-361 and 50-362 San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Units 2 and 3 This letter confirms verbal notification on June 22, 1981 of two conditions discovered in construction which are considered potentially reportable in accordance with 10CFR50.-
55 (e).
The conditions involve:
(a) The use of non-self lock-ing gear sets in valve operators manufactured by Limitorque Corporation which results in a hammering action on seating the valve; (b) Loss of a diesel generator set output due to the unit tripping out on a high crankcase pressure signal during preoperational testing.
We are performing an evaluation of these conditions and will submit appropriate reports in accordance with 10CFR50.-
55(e)(3) if the conditions are determined to be reportable.
