WELD CRACKS IN Ef1 BED PLATES

On May 12, 1981 your office was notified by telephone of a potential 50.55(e) concerning cracks discovered in welds of the Reactor Auxiliary Building embed plates supplied by Fought Company of Portland, Oregon.
As an evaluation of this problem was not completed within 30 days, an interim report was provided on June 12, 1981.
Since June 12, 1981 the scope of the evaluation has been greatly expanoed to include other types of embed plates fabricated by Fought.
For this reason the evaluation has not been completed as anticipated and no l
conclusions as to the reportability under 10CFR50.55(e) have been determined. We will provide a final report by August 15, 1981.
