Docket Nos. 50-361 and 50-362 San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Units 2 and 3 This letter confirms verbal notification on June 15, 1981 of a condition discovered in construction which is con-sidered reportable in accordance with 10CFR50.55(e).
This condition involves the use of incorrect material in keys be-tween the motor drive shaft and pinion gear on Model SMB-4 Limitorque Valve Operators.
The condition was reported in NRC IE Information Notice No. 81-08.
We are performing an evaluation of the deficiency and will submit a report of our conclusions and corrective action taken in accordance with 10CFR50.55(e)(3).
