This letter confirms verbal notification on July 15, 1981 of a condition discovered in construction which is con-sidered reportable in accordance with 10CFR50.55(e).
This con-dition involves the deformation of the feedwater ring on one of the Unit 2 steam generators.
The condition was observed upon scheduled inspection of the steam generator following perform-ance of the water hammer test.
We are performing an evaluation of this condition to determine the cause and the necessary corrective action and will submit a report of our conclusions and corrective action taken in accordance with 10CFR50.55(e)(3).
