Unit 1 in refueling outage; unita 2 and 3 in nonnal operation, Identifica_ tion and Description of Occurrence ilhile attempting to perform post.eodification testing on a newly-installed sprinkler systems, it was found that the auto-start initiation logic for the fire pumps was inoperable.
Apparent Cause of Occurrence Discussions with personnel revealed that work activities were being performed Wort activities in the relay Panel associated with the auto-etatt power supply.

Other Related Events It has been determined that a fire pump has been operating continuously since April 17, 1981, due to other activities on the systese.
Corrective Actions Taken er Planned l
The permanent wiring associated with the power supply to the auto-start logic was immediately replaced and auto-start verified.
