Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station Docket No. 50-219 IE Inspection 50-219/81-06 Notice of Violation In accordance with 10 CFR 2.201, the following is in response to Appendix A " Notice of Violation" transmitted to Jersey Central Power &
Light Company with your letter of June 9,1981. As stated in the Notice of Violation, Purchase Requisition 61619 was issued for the procurement
>f ITT Barton Model 288A snap action switches without Operational Quality asurance concur. c.ce as required by the Operational Quality Assurance Program and company procedures 4016, rev. 1 and 2001, rev. 3.
This event occurred due to problems encountered with the vendor in supplying procurement documentation.
Subsequently, QA concurrence was obtained during the installation phase. The responsible personnel involved in the procurement of the Barton switches have been instructed in tt, proper procedure to follow and the importance of obtaining the Operational Qu lity Assurance concurrence.
It is believed that this action will preclude any recurrence.
Full compliance was achieved on June 24, 1981.
