[External_Sender] January 2020 NEI Additional Input for the Rulemaking for Physical Security for Advanced Reactors Attachments: January 2020 NEI Additional Input for the Rulemaking for Physical Security for Advanced Reactors.pdf Bill and Nan, At the December 12, 2019 public meeting on the topic of the Advanced Reactor Physical Security Rulemaking, the NRC staff requested input on portions of the rule(s) that might be addressed in the limited scope rulemaking. The nuclear industry provided some input during the meeting, and as a follow-up we are sending the attached list of NEIs Advanced Reactor Regulatory Task Force input for NRCs consideration.

We support the accelerated schedule and scope of the rulemaking that was directed by the Commission. We encourage the NRC to incorporate the proposed changes that are consistent with the Commissions direction. We suggest that any potential improvements that would delay the schedule, or require additional direction from the Commission, be held for future disposition in another effort. Thank you for your consideration. Please let me and David Young, dly@nei.org or 202.739.8127, know if you have any questions.
