The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is proposing to amend its regulations concerning the licensing of uranium enrichment facilities to reflect changes made to the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act) by the " Solar, Wing, Waste, and Geothermal Power Production Incentives Act of 1990," Public Law 101-575.
the p-incipal effect of these changes is that uranium enrichment facilities will be licensed subject to the provisions of the Act pertaining to source material and special nuclear material rather than the provisions pertaining to a production facility.
