SAFETY EVALUATION OF LICENSEE RE00ESTS FOR EXEMPTIONS FROM CERTAIN TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS OF APPENDIX R TO 10 CFR PART 50 (TAC NOS.
67014, 67015, 76510, AND 76511)
By letters dated September 30, October 1 and November 23, 1987, you requested exemptions from certain technical provisions of Appendix R to 10 CFR Part 50.
By letter dated April 11, 1990, you requested modifications in combustible loading definitions used in exemption requests submitted to NRC on June 25, l
1986. Those requested exemptions were evaluated by the staff and approved in a Safety Evaluation dated July 21, 1988.
We have reviewed your requests with the assistance of our contractor, Science App)lications International Corporation (SAIC). A copy of our Safety Evaluation (SE with a copy of the Technical Evaluation Report prepared by SAIC is enclosed.
Our SE concludes that the four exemptions requested, and the modifications in combustible loading calculations for a previously approved exemption request, are acceptable.
These five items will be issued as one exemption in the near future.
