ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENTS F0P CALVERT CLIFFS NUCLEAR POWER PLANT UNIT 1 (TAC NO. 77618) AND UNIT 2 (TAC NO. 77621)
The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No.150 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-53 and Amendment No.132 to Facility Operating License No.
DPR-69 for the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Pleht, Unit Nos. I and 2, respec-tively. The amendments consist of changes to the Technical Specifications in response to your application transmitted by letter dated August 28, 1990.
These amendments revise Technical Specification Surveillance Requirement 4.0.2. by deleting the requirement that allows the combined time interval for any three consecutive surveillance intervals not to exceed 3.25 times the specified surveillance interval. The change is based on the guidance of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Generic Letter 89-14. "Line-Item Improvements in Technical Specifications - Removal of the 3.25 Limit on Extending Surveillance Intervals." The supporting Bases for Technical Specification 4.0.2 are also revised to reflect the requested changes.
A copy of the related Safety Evaluation is enclosed. A Notice of Issuance will be included in the Commission's next regular bi-weekly F_ederal Register notice.
