MOTION TO FILE AMICUS BRIEF OUT OF TIME By Order of December 23, 1982, the Commission invited the filing of briefs amicus curiae in this proceeding with respect to specific questions raised by the Commission. The briefs were due on February 11, 1983, 50 days after the Commission's Order was issued. The Union of Concerned Scientists moves that it be permitted to file this brief out of time on February 14, 1983.

UCS was prepared to file this brief on the deadline.

However, one of the worst snow storms in the history of Washingtdn, D.C., prevented UCS from doing so. We understand it also prevented the Commission itself from operating for most of the day. F,or that reason, we seek to file this brief on the first business day following the deadline, February 14, 1983.
