This refers to the investigation conducted by Messrs. E. Johnson, R. Herr, and

D. Driskill of the NRC during the period June 8-10, June 16-17, August 6, and

September 9, 1982. This investigation was conducted to determine whether
Arkansas Power and Light Company willfully or knowingly submitted a false

statement to the NRC in response to IE Bulletin 80-06.
,
The investigation did not develop evidence that Arkansas Power and Light

Company willingly, knowingly, or intentionally submitted a false statement to
j
the NRC.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosed
'
report of investigation will be placed in the NRC Public Document unless you
notify this office, by telephone, within 10 days of the date of this letter
and submit written application to withhold information contained therein
within 30 days of the date of this letter.
Such application must be
,
consistent with the requirements of 2.7%(b)(1).
