Sub. ject: Export of Special Nuclear Material A routine safeguards inspection was made of Mitsui & Company (ll.S.A.) Inc.
activities authorized by NRC License XSNM-1955 at the Port of Oakland, Oakland, California on January 13, 1983.
The inspection was conducted by Region V Safeguards Inspectors A. Wieder and G. Nelson, and Radiation Specialists P. Zurakowski and F. Pang. They checked a special nuclear material shipment originating from General Electric Company, llilmington, North Carolina, for compliance with the requirements of Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations; Part 70, "Special Nuclear itaterial," and Part 71,
" Packaging of Radioactive Material for Transport and Transportation of Radioactive Material Under Certain Conditions."
No items of noncompliance were found.
In accordance with Section 2.790(d) of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's
" Rules of Practice," Part 2. Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, documentation of their findings of your control and accounting procedures for the safeguarding of special nuclear material are exempt from disclosure.
Therefore, the enclosed inspection report will not be placed in the public document room, but the report will be given limited distribution.
