(Seabrook Station, Units 1 and 2) ~~----

Docket Nos. 50-443 OL and 50-444 OL

Dear Ms. Curran:

This will summarize our conversations regarding the timino of NECNP's responses to the NRC staff's interrogatories and request for production of documents. The Staff filed its request on November 11, 1982. The Board extended the response time to January 14, 1983 in a conference call with the parties on December 22, 1982. This ruling was confirmed by a Memorandum and Order dated January 17, 1983. Due to a number of factors including the illness of a NECNP attorney, and the unavailability of NECNP experts, the Staff agreed to a further two-week extension for NECNP's responses to Staff discovery, and NECNP filed its responses on January 28, 1983.

Since the Staff has just received NECNP's interrogatory responses, which must be reviewed prior to the filing of summary dispositions motions, you have agreed to a similar two-week adjustment for the Staff's due date for its summary ' disposition motions directed towards NECNP contentions. That date will now be February 28, 1983. The Staff will hand-deliver its motions to you. With your permission, the Staff has informally advised Judge Hoyt of this. The Staff will file its summary disposition motions regarding non-NECNP contentions by February 12, 1983.

Sincerely, Roy P. Lessy Deputy Assistant Chief Hearing Counsel cc: See page 2 i
