Gentlemen:
This refers to the inspection activities performed by our Senior Residsnt
Inspector, Mr. Ross L. Brown of our staff, during the period November 1,1982,
thmugh Decenber 15, 1982, of activities authorized by MRC Construction
Permit CPPR-145 for River Bend, Unit 1, and to the discussion of our findings
with Mr. Philip D. Graham and other members of your staff dudng this in-

spection period.
Areas examined during the inspection and our findings are documented in the
enclosed inspection report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted
of selective examination of procedures and representative secords, inter-
views with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations or deviations were identi-
fled.
We have also examined actions you have taken with regard to previously

identified inspection findings. The status of these items is identified

in paragraph 3 of the enclosed report.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosum
will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room unless you notify this office,
by telephone, w; thin 10 days of the date of this letter, and submit written
application to withhold information contained therwin withh 3 des of the
date of this letter. Such application must be consistent with the require-

mentsof2.790(b)(1).
