Dubject: Request for Additional Information - Protective Sleeves for LPRMs i
In your letter dated December 22, 1982, you requested that the Grand Gulf operating license (NPF-13) be amended to allow for the installation of protective sleeves on the LPRM assemblies. A preliminary review of this t
letter indicated that insufficient infomation had been supplied for our evaluation. To expedite our review, we discussed the deficiencies of the submittal with Mr. Guy Cesare of your staff on January 4,1983.
Specifically, we requested detailed information in the following areas:
(a) Sleeving Modification - Engineering Drawing, Materials Identification, Method of Attachment, Number and Location l
of Modified LPRMs. MP&L Safety Evaluation.
l (b) Radiological Assessment - Details of Survey for Personn'el Entry prior to and daring modification.
(c) Training - Quality Control for Acceptance, Procedures,to protect core assemblies Debris consideration.
As yet, we have not received any of this information. When it is received, we will process the license amendment as expeditiously as possibl e.
