(1) IP letter U-0422, from G. E. Wuller to J. R. Miller, dated 2/23/82-transmitted Preservice Inspection Program (2) IP letter U-0546, from G. E. Wuller to C.13. Thomas, dated 9/17/82-transmitted Preservice Inspection Pump Program (3) Meeting between IP and NRC regarding CPS Outstanding Issues, dated 10/27/82 Reference letters #1 & #2 provided the NRC with detailed information regarding IP's Preservice Inspection Program for pumps & valves to be implemented at the Clinton Power Station (CPS). Reference #3 concerns a meeting held at the NRC's Bethesda offices on October 27, 1982 between representatives of IP and the NRC to discuss CPS-Safety Evaluation Report (SER)

Outstanding Issues.

Outstanding Issue No. 8 addresses the Preservice/ Inservice Inspection Program at CPS. At the October 27th meeting, discussions were held between Gary Hammer (NRC reviewer-MEB),

Herb Williams (NRC-Project Manager), D. L. Holtzscher and T. L. Riley (IP) concerning the status of this issue. It was determined that this issue could be closed in the next Supplemental SER (#2) following confirmation of IP's intent to meet the requirements of 10CFR50.55a(g)(4). With this letter, IP states its intent to meet these requirements. The CPS Preservice/ Inservice Inspection programs will be revised, at the appropriate time prior to issuance of an Operating License (OL), in accordance with the latest approved ASME Code Edition in effect 12 months prior to OL. In addition, the ASME Code Edition referenced will be consistent between the valve and pump programs.
