NRC Inspection of Building J. San Jose Facility This letter refers to the special safety inspection conducted by Mr. 8.
Brock, P. Zurakowski and J. F. Pang of this office on August 5, 1982 at Building J located at 175 Curtner Avenue, San Jose where special nuclear materials have been used under NRC License SNM-54.
No items of noncompliance with NRC require:nents were identified within the scope of this inspection.
This inspection consisted of a confirmatory radiological survey performed relative to the decontamination of certain areas in Building J for release for unrestricted use prior to the transfer of the remaining NRC licensed activities to the state license and the termination of NRC License SNM-54 The areas examined and the results of the survey are described in the enclosed inspection report. Based upon the results of this survey, it was detennined that additional decontamination would be required in one area of Building J.
It is requested that the results of your followup survey be sutanitted to the NRC Region V office for evaluation.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room unless you notify this office, by telephone, within ten days of the date of this letter and submit written application to withhold information contained therein within thirty days of the date of this letter. Such application must be consistent with the requirements of 2.790(b)(1).
