01/27/2020 Mr. Reid Nelson, Director Office of Federal Agency Programs Advisory Council on Historic Preservation 401 F Street NW, Suite 308 Washington, DC 20001-2637

SUBJECT:

NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY FOR THE FINAL SUPPLEMENTAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT FOR SUBSEQUENT LICENSE RENEWAL OF PEACH BOTTOM ATOMIC POWER STATION, UNITS 2 AND 3

Dear Mr. Nelson:

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has completed the enclosed final NUREG-1437, Supplement 10, Second Renewal, Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants: Regarding Subsequent License Renewal for Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Units 2 and 3. The final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) is being issued in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, as part of the NRCs process to decide whether to issue a renewed operating license to Exelon Generation Company, LLC for Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Units 2 and 3.

In the final SEIS, the NRC staff determined that the adverse environmental impacts of subsequent license renewal for Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Units 2 and 3 are not so great that preserving the option of license renewal for energy planning decision-makers would be unreasonable. Under the provisions of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the NRC staff determined that subsequent license renewal for Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Units 2 and 3 would not adversely affect any known historic properties. The final SEIS will accompany the final Safety Evaluation Report to be considered in the Commissions license renewal decision making process. A copy of the final SEIS is enclosed. The final SEIS is also available through the web-based version of the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at https://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html under ADAMS Accession No. ML20023A937.

If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact Ms. Nancy Martinez, Environmental Scientist, at 630-829-9734 or via e-mail at Nancy.Martinez@nrc.gov.

Sincerely,

/RA/
