Dear Mr. Denton:

Attachments 1-12 of this letter contain proposed amendments to the Technical Specifications for Facility Operating License Nos. NPF-9 and NPF-17 for McGuire Units 1 and 2 respectively.

Each attachment contains the proposed changes and a discussion of the justification and safety analysis. Analyses are included pursuant to 10 CFR 50.91 which conclude that the proposed amendments do not involve significant hazards considerations.

Pursuant to 10 CFR 170.22, Duke Power proposes that this request involves one Class IV license amendment (i.e. several changes of the Class III type) for McGuire Unit 1 and one Class I amendment for McGuire Unit 2.

Accordingly, a check for $12,700 is enclosed.

These amendments have been reviewed and determined to have no adverse safety or environmental impact.
