Restricted Movement of Nonstationary Pipe Supports
Dear Mr. Seidle:
This letter withdraws the potential 10CFR50.55(e) item concerning re-stricted movement of nonstationary pipe supports. Kansas Gas and Electric Company (KG&E) initially reported this item to Region IV of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission on October 14, 1982, with additional information provided in References 1), 2) and 3).
The Architect / Engineer (A/E) has completed the evaluation of the supports in question and has determined that the supports can be accepted on a "use-as-is" basis. Therefore, the restricted movement will not adversely affect the safety of operations. Furthermore, as described in Reference 1, the support design has been modified to eliminate similar concerns in the future and to aid in the ease of installation.
Based upon the A/E's evaluation and disposition of this subject, KG&E has concluded that this item is not reportable pursuant to 10CFR50.55(e).
