Operability Analysis of the 8-inch Containment Ventilation System Globe Valve Reference (b) requested Maine Yankee to submit either test data or analyses which would demonstrate operability of the 8-inch containment ventilation system globe valve. Reference (c) committed Maine Yankee to provide either test data or analyses which:
Demonstrate the operability of the 8-inch globe valve and operator a.
during a DBA-LOCA: and b.
Demonstrate operability of the 8-inch globe valve and operator following a seismic event.
I In accordance with Reference (c), enclosed is the subject analysis.
Reference (d) stated that the staff did not consider this valve operable and that it should therefore be sealed closed. Since the enclosed evaluation demonstrates the operability of this valve, the valve is now considered operable.
