APPENDIX A W. J. Woolley Company Docket No. 99900389/83-01 NOTICE OF NONCONFORMANCE Based on the results of an NRC inspection conducted on April 24-29, 1983, it appears that certain of your activities were not conducted in accordance with NRC requirements as indicatert below:
Criterion V of Appendix B to 10 CFR Part 50 states: " Activities affecting quality shall be prescribed by documented instructions, procedures, or drawings, of a type appropriate to the circumstances and shall be accomplished in accordance with these instructions, procedures, or drawings.
Instructions, procedures, or drawings shall include appropriate quantitative or qualitative acceptance criteria for determining that important activities have been satisfactorily accomplished."
Paragraphs A15.5 and B15.5 in the W. J. Woolley Company (WJW) QA Manual, Revision 10, require vendor submittal of documented proposed corrective actions to prevent recurrence within 30 days of receipt of a Corrective Action Request (CAR) for nonconforming conditions identified by WJW survey and/or audit.
Contrary to the above, corrective actions which were required to be reported by February 28 1983, for seven CARS issued concerning survey identified deficiencies at Seal Master C3rporation, had not been submitted by the vendor as of the beginning of this inspection.
