Dear Mr. Keppler:
FINAL 10CFR50;55 (e)
REPORT NO. U-40 WIDE RANGE RCS PRESSURE TRANSMITTERS CALIMMY PLANT UNIT 'l
References:
1.
UINPC-569, dated 7-21-82; same subject 2.
UINBC-592, dated 11-2-82; same subject 3.
UIRRC-611, dated 3-7-83; same subject The reference letters provided interim reports on a 10TR50.55 (e) matter concerning the inaccuracy of the reactor coolant systs (RCS) wide range pressure transmitters when subjected
'to post-accident conditions inside containment. As a result of this significant deficiency review, and other plant design considerations, the decision has been made to relocate these transmitters frcm inside to outside the containment. As a result of this relocation, the transmitters will no longer be subjected to the severe post-accident conditions which could result in inaccurate wide range pressure signals. Therefore, the significant deficiency concern is resolved.
The SNUPPS FSAR will be revised to document this plant design change. This letter constitutes the final Union Electric report on the wide range reactor coolant syst s pressure transmitter significant deficiency issue.
Very truly yours,
\\
