Discrepancies in the BN System
Dear Mr. Seidle:
This letter provides an interim report on a potential 10CFR50.55(e) item concerning documentation and hardware discrepancies in the Borated Refueling Water System (BN). This matter was initially reported pur-suant to 10CFR50.55(e) on January 21, 1983, and interim reports were provided in References 1) and 2).
The identified BN documentation and hardware discrepancies have been evaluated and none would have adversely affected the safety of operations had they gone uncorrected. However, Kansas Gas and Electric Company will not close this potential 10CFR50.55(e) item until more of the previously turned-over safety-related systems have been reverified and evaluated.
A final or interim report on this matter will be submitted to you on or before September 30, 1983. In the interim, please direct any questions concerning this subject to me or to Mr. Otto Maynard of my staff.
