During calendar years 1983 and 1984, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL)
Vital Area Analysis (VAA) program personnel will be reanalyzing the original ten sites visited during the early stages of the VAA program. These reanalyses include your Fitzpatrick site.
This revisit is necessary to gather additional information required due i
to major modifications and redirection of the program by the NRC. The original objective for the VAA program has changed considerably to reflect the Commission's philosophy of giving the licensee more flexibility in identifying vital areas to be protected, as expressed in proposed safeguards rulemaking actions. A representative from LANL will be contacting your site in the near future to establish a schedule for the revisit.
The Safeguards Information gathered by VAA program personnel will be protected from disclosure in accordance with established NRC rules stated in 10 CFR 73.21.
