Dear Mr. Wuller:
This is in response to the Illinois Power Company letter of December 3,1982, and Amendment 16 to the FSAR dated May 1982 regarding the Emergency Oper tions Facility (EOF) and backup EOF for the Clinton Power Station Unit 1.
The letter states that the primary EOF is to be located approximately 0.2 miles from the plant and the backup EOF is to be located in the IPC Electric and Gas Dispatch Center in Decatur, Illinois, approximately 22 miles from the plant.
This letter is to advise you that the Commission finds acceptable your position with regard to the locatior of your primary EOF and backup EOF. This approval applies only to the location of these facilities. The other features of these facilities and the features of all the Clinton Emergency Response Facilities (ERFs) will be evaluated during our post implementation appraisal to be conducted at the plant site when all the ERFs are completed.
