Gentlemen:
This m fers to the inspection conducted under the Resident Inspection Program
by Mr. Ross L. Bmwn of this office during the period April 7-30, 1983, of
activities authorized by NRC Construction Pemit CPPR-145, for River Bend
i
Unit 1, and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. Philip D. Graham, and
other members of your staff.
i
Areas examined during the inspection included site tour, licensee identified
i
construction deficiencies; safety-related pipe welding; safety-related pipe supports
and restraints; and electrical system installation. hithin these amas, the
inspection consisted of selective pxamination of procedures and representative
I
mconis, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector. These
findings are documented in the enclosed inspection m port.

Within the scope of the inspection, no violations or deviations were identified.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosure

will be placed in the NRC Public Docisnent Room unless you notify this office,

by telephone, within 10 days of the date of this letter, and submit written

application to withhold infomation contained therein within 30 days of the
date of this letter. Such application must be consistent with the requirements
