The inspection results were obtained by performing an independent verification of the U-235 content of three populations of containers of feed material located within the storage area of MBA-1. Only containers with mcre than 500 grams of material were measured. A 100% sampling of Types IV and V feed material was made, consisting of 102 measurements.
Two hundred and sixty-six samples of Type III material were also measured.
For all the samples measured, an accept / reject criterion for the determination of a defect was chosen.
Each of the sariple items selected was weighed and gamma counted for 10 seconds using a b-SAM III. The results of the test indicated that, of the samples met.sured, there were no gross defects. A gross defect was defined as a difference greater than 20% between the stated and the measured contents of an item.
