VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY-NORTH ANNA POWER STATION UNIT NO. 2 STATUS OF THE CONTAINMENT HIGH RANGE RADIATION MONITORS This letter is to inform your Staff of the status of the North Anna Unit 2 Containment High Range Radiation Monitors.
The Containment High Range Radiation Monitors have been' installed and tested. On May 6, 1983, Victoreen, the vendor of the system, calibrated the North Anna Unit 2 Containment High Range Radiation Monitors using their prototype calibration source.
These monitors were in-situ calibrated by electronic signal substitution for all rance decades above 10 R/hr.
In-situ calibration by means of a calibrated radiation source was performed - at 10 R/hr.
The results of the in-situ calibration were satisfactory.
The in-containment electrical terminations for the Containment High Range Radiation Monitors are not qualified.
The current in-containment electrical terminations have been made using a temporary termination procedure.
. Qualified terminations will be made in accordance with the schedule of IEB 79-01B and NUREG-0588 as indicated in Revision 3 to Vepco's NUREG-0737 response.
Vepco has satisfied North Anna Unit 2 License Condition 2.C(21)(1)(iv) and NUREG-0737, Item II.F.1.3, except for the environmental qualification portion of the system.
