Dear Mr. Keppler:
This letter is in response to Reference (c) above and further explains the Commonwealth Edison Company's position and corrective action to be taken concerning Items No. 1 and 2.
Item 1 addresses the procedures used to test our metal detectors and Item 2 addresses our intent to submit to the Safeguards Licensing Branch a proposed change in the description of our metal detectors.
To the best of my knowledge and belief the statements contained herein and in the attachment are true and correct.
In some respects these statements are not based upon my personal knowledge but upon information furnished by other Commonwealth Edison employees. Such information has been reviewed in accordance with Company practice and I believe it to be reliable.
