Dear Mr. Terry:
In accordance with your request dated September 24, 2019 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System [ADAMS] Accession Number ML19284C473), as supplemented by your letter dated December 12, 2019 (ADAMS Accession Number ML19354A506), and pursuant to Part 70 to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), Materials License SNM-42 is hereby amended to approve the updated financial assurance documents and the revision to Chapter 10, Decommissioning, of the BWXT Nuclear Operations Group, Inc. -
Lynchburg, VA (BWXT NOG-L) license application. The review of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff is documented in the enclosed Safety Evaluation Report (SER).
Accordingly, Safety Condition S-1 of Materials License SNM-42 has been revised to reflect the approved revision of Chapter 10 of the BWXT NOG-L license application. This letter concludes action on this application and Enterprise Project Identifier L-2019-DFA-0012 is considered CLOSED.
All other license conditions shall remain the same. The enclosures to this letter provide the amended Materials License SNM-42 and the SER from the review of the updated financial assurance documents and the September 24, 2019, revision to Chapter 10 of the BWXT NOG-L license application. contains sensitive security-related information. Accordingly, it is marked as Official Use Only and is withheld from public disclosure. When separated from the sensitive enclosure, this letter and the other enclosures are decontrolled and publicly available in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs "Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure."
A copy of this letter, Enclosure 1, and Enclosure 3 will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records System component of the NRC's ADAMS. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.
The letter transmitted contains Security-Related Information. When separated from Enclosure 2, this letter is decontrolled.
