Attached is a petition to intervene and a request for a hearing submitted by the Radioactive Waste Campaign and the Orange Environment, Inc.
The request was filed in response to a February 13, 1990 Order Modifying License (Effective Immediately), published in the Federal Register at 55 Fed.. Reg. 7072 (February 28, 1990).
The Order Modifying License was issued pursuant to a notification by the Licensee,
-Cintichem, Inc.,.of an unmonitored release of radioactively contaminated. water from the licensee's reactor building to an
-onsite retention pond. The Order-required-the shut down of the Licensee's reactor until Cintichem complies with the requirements of the Order.
The hearing request is'being referred to you for appropriate action in accordance with 10 C.F.R. - 2.772 (j).
