NRC Monthly Operations Summary --

Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station February 1990 1

UNIT 2 4

Unit 2 beganihe month at 95% power and increasing. One hundred percent power was acheived late on.

-- February 1, and was maintained until February 3, when the unit took a 200 MWe load drop for rod pattern

adjuatment. Pour was returned to 100% the same day.

r Power was reduced to 62% on February 5 because of a leak in the "2A' feedwater heater After the "A"-

4 feedwater string was removed from service, power was increased to nominal 73% The unit remained at this'-

level for the rest of the month.

UNIT 3 The unit began the rnonth recovering from an outage caused by an EHC leak. Startup activities were in progress.

On February 7, follo*g maintenance on the HPCI gland seal condensate pump and recite M G set brushes, and a trip of the "C" RFP,100% power was acheived. The unit remained at nominal 100% power for the rest of the month.

In order for PECo to do reload licensing analyses in-house for Unit 2 Cycle 9, NRC approval of one report (PECO FMS-006) must be obtained by May 31,1990. This report is the last in a series of six reports to demonstrate PECo's ability to perform the analyses. The report has been submitted and is scheduled for completion in May 1990.
