This letter refers to the special inspection conducted by Mr. Leonard Cheung of
this office on January 23-26, 1990,-of-activities at Millstone Unit 2.

Mr. Cheung discussed our inspection' findings with Mr. J. Keenan and other
members of your staff _ at the conclusion of the inspection.
Specific. areas examined during this inspection included:
1) allegations
associated with your Acoustic Valve Monitoring System and 2) your response to
NRC IE-Bulletin 80-06. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of
selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews
with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
