This letter refers to the routine safeguards inspection conducted by
Mr.1W. K. Lancaster of this office on February 19-23, 1990, and to the
discussions of_our findings held by Mr. Lancaster with Mr. Eric DeBarba.
and other members.of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection. The:
. inspection was conducted at the.Haddam Neck Nuclear Power Plant in Haddam,
Connecticut, of activities authorized by NRC License No. OPR-61.
Areas uamined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I-
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the-
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and
representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the
inspector.-
Within the.' scope of this inspection, which included a back-shif t inspection, on.
Monday,-February 19, 1990, a federal holiday, no violations were observed.

program that have been determined.to be exempt from public disclosure in

'accordance with 10 CFR 73.21 (Safeguards Information); Therefore,ithose
