NDHCONFORMING MOLDED. CASE CIRCUIT BREAKERS (TAC NO. 71298)

I By letter dated May 1,1989, you responded to Bulletin 88-10. As a result of Supplement I to. Bulletin 8810, corrections to your Nay 1,1989 letter were not required.

In your response, your confirmed that activities required to address the issue of substandard molded case circuit breakers diccussed in Bulletin 8810.have been performed and that you are in conformance to Bulletin 8810

except for four circuit breakers. These four breakers are being scheduled to be replaced. in the forthcoming refueling outage which began February 17, 1990.

In addition, during the time you found the problem of these breakers a Safety Analysis for Operability was prepared which provided justification for continued operation.

A detailed technical review of your response has not been performed; however, the area may be subject to inspection at a later date.

If a subsequent inspec-tion identifies deficiencies in your actions and response, this issue will be reopened. Presently, the staff considers your response to Bulletin 8810 complete for Fort Calhoun Station.
