This letter refers to the Enforcement Conference conducted by Mr. A. B. Davis
and other members of the NRC staff on January 16, 1990, at the Region III
(
Office in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. The conference was to discuss apparent

violations identified in NRC Inspection Report No. 50-266/89033; No.

50-301/89033 of activities at the Point Beach Nuclear Plant, authorized by NRC
Operating Licenses No. DPR-24, and No. DPR-27, and to discuss our findings with
'
you and other members of your staff. On January 22, 1990, a telephone
.
-conference was conducted with your staff to discuss examples in addition to
those identified in the apparent violations discussed at the January 16, 1990,
conference.
These examples are documented in NRC Inspection Report No.
50-266/89032; No. 50-301/89032.
The enclosed copy of our report identifies those matters discussed during the
conference.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Comission's regulations, a copy of
this letter and the enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
