This letter forwards the final Yankee Nuclear Power Station SALP Report (En-

closure 1) for the period of April 1,1988 through July 31, 1989. The report
-is based on the SALP Board Report forwarded to you by my October 16, 1989
'
letter (Enclosure 2) and on your November 10, 1989 comments (Enclosure 3).

The SALP was discussed with you on October 23, 1989 at Yankee Nuclear Power
Station in Rowe, Massachusetts (meeting attendees are listed in Enclosure 4).
We believe that the discussion improved mutual understanding of your activities
and of-our SALP program.
,
Evaluation of your SALP comments resulted in a minor change to the Safety
Assessment / Quality Verification analysis for the reasons stated in Enclosure
3.
In particular, revised Page 26 is transmitted with the final report. The
SALP. rating did not change.
Our overall assessment is.that the Yankee Nuclear Power Station operated safely
and conservatively during the SALP period.
