Inspection Nuniber 50-333/89-20
This letter refers to the routine safety inspection of your design and
modifications programs conducted by Messers. L. Prividy and J. Yerokun of this
office on August 28 - September 1, September 5-9, and September 25-29, 1989 at
the James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant and at your White Plains
corporate office. A discussion of our findings was held by Messers. Prividy
and Yerokun with you and your staff at the conclusion of this inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which .is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of~ selective examinations of procedures and
,&,
representative records,-interviews with personnel and observations by the
inspectors.
Our inspectors determined that the modification program was being adequately
- '..
controlled by administrative procedures. The plant modifications reviewed
were designed and being installed in a controlled and thorough manner.
Within the scope of this inspection, e licensee identified, non-cited violation
was identified as discussed in Sectiui 2.2. of the enclosed report for which no
reply is necessary.
