- 1.
Since I&E is to have the lead responsibility for conducting this program, the I&E personnel assigned to this program should be dedicated to the independent verification testing program.
-2.-
Staf f should actively consider obtaining an additional separate test chamber at the Sandia facility in order to ensure this independent testing proceeds on schedule.
-3.
In. connection with the staf f's review program as ordered in the tommission's May 27th decision on equipment qualification, at least 50% of the testing conducted at Sandia for NRC should be on existing equipment (e.g.,
equipment identified using Task 11, outlined on page 10 of Enclosure 1 to SECY-80-319).
4.
NRC's Congressional Oversight Committees should be informed of this new program and a press release announcing this new program should be prepared.
