Dear Mr. Davis:
Attached is Revision 2 to Duke Power Company's Application $or Special Nuclear Material License for McGuire Nuclear Station. This revision includes several additional pieces of information requested by your staff as a result of their review of our application dated May 18, 1981 as revised on July 10, 1981. The revised pages should be inserted into Revision 1 application dated July 10, 1981.
The~various station programs described in this application (i.e., Health Physics, Personnel, Dosimetry, Fire Protection, Safety, etc.) are the same programs that were used for storage of Unit 1 new fuel. These pro-grams are for the most part the same programs in effect under the provi-sions of the Part 50 operating license for Unit 1.
All of these programs are subject to routine review by both Duke personnel and NRC inspectors, and are consequently periodically updated as requirements change.
The schedule for receipt of the Unit 2 ner fuel assemblies has been revised since my last letter. Although the exact date is uncertain, initial delivery of the new fuel is expected in November, 1981.
It is requested that the license for Unit 2 new fuel be issued prior to October 1, 1981 to support this shipment date with some margin.
