Docket Nos. 50-361 and 50-362 San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Units 2 and 3 This letter confirms verbal notification on Septaber 10, 1981 of a condition discovered in construction which is considered potentially reportable in accordance with 10CER50.55(e). The condition involves use of General Electric HEA relays which have been reported by GE as failing to operate when the trip solenoid is energized.

We are performing an evaluation of this condition and will submit an appropriate report in accordance with 10TR50.55(e)(3) if the condition is determined to be reportable. If you have any questions or require additional information, please let me know.
