PHIPPS BEND NUCLEAR PLANT - REPORTABLE DEFICIENCY - INADEQUATE WELDS ON EMBEDDED PIPE SLEEVES TO PLATES (NCR PBNP-160 AND AUDIT PB-G-80-14 DEFICIENCY NO. 2)
Initial notification'of the subject deficiency was made to NRC-0IE, Region II, Inspector R. W. Wright on October 24, 1980. The first, second, and third interim reports were submitted on November 24, 1980 and Febr9ary 20, and May 15, 1961, respectively. In compliance with paragraph 50.55(e) of 10 CFR Part 50, this letter constitutes the fourth interim report on the subject deficiency. TVA is still in the progress-of evaluating the subject deficiency. This interim report is being filed because deferral of Phipps Bend construction activities has not allowed. 4 i
any sir;nificant progress to be made on this problem. TVA anticipates transmittinr the final report on or before July 2, 1982. If you have any questions regarding this subject, please call Jim Doner at FTS 857-2014.
