'-j-This is in response to your letter of July 29, 1981 urging the Comission to take review of the June 16, 1981 Atomic Safety and Licensing Appeal Board (Appeal Board) decision on the seismic design of the Diablo Canyon nuclear power reactors.
The Appeal Board affirmed the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board (Licensing Board) approval of the Diablo Canyon seismic design. Joint Intervenors and Governor rown have petitioned the J
Comission seeking review of the Appeal Board decision. The Comission is currently studying the record generated in the seismic proceedings.
The issues raised in your letter will be among the factors taken into consideration in deciding whether to exercise the formal review.
