m APPENDIX A NOTICE OF DEVIATION South Carolina Electric and Gas Company Docket No. 50-395 Summer License No. CPPR-94 As a result of the inspection conducted on May 26-29, 1981, certain of your activities appear'to deviate from your commitments to the Commission as indicated below:
South Carolina Electric and Gas Ccmpany's (SCE&G) response to FSAR Question 421-77, FSAR~ Admendment 16 dated November 1979, states "Although the fire protection equipment is not considered safety-related, the QA program for fire protection is part of the overall QA program, and installation, I
testing, and subsequent operations are processed by-procedures similar to those utilized for safety-related work". SCE&G_QC Procedure EF-11, Inspec-tion ~ of Installation of the Fire Service Systems, was generated to meet this commitment.
Paragraph 1 of this procedure states Electrical QC will i
inspect the installation of the fire service related equipment for identifi-cation, location, physical integrity and leveling and plumbness."
Para-i graphs 2, 3, 4 and 5 of this procedure states that QC will verify proper conduit, tray and cable installation and cable terminations.
1 Contrary to the above, documentation is not available to indicate that QC inspected the fire detector installations for identification, location, Shysical integrity and leveling and plumbness. Also, documentation is not available to indicate that QC inspected the plant fire alarm control panels and associated appurtenances.
