NRC License SNM-1097, Docket #70-1113 This letter is to confirm oar telephone conversation of 7/10/81 regarding the unrestricted release of approximately 15,000 kgs of decontaminated molybdenum scrap.
Decontamination specifications established for scrap release by 4
1 General Electric Company were lower than those currently required by NRC license conditions.
The vendor's certification indicated that these limits were met.
Upon return from the vendor, GE inspected the material in one box and six drums out of the shipment of five boxes and twenty-nine drums.
All material met the specifications with the exception of two pieces.
These two pieces, however, did meet license conditions.
It is my understanding that, based upon the information transferred to you during the telephone conversation and your subsequent discussions with Chuck Hosey, it has been determined that GE has done an adequate job of decontamination ar.i survey of the-material and that no NRC survey is required prior to release of the material.
