RE: VERMONT YANKEE NUCLEAR POWER STATION In anticipation of our September 1,1981 meeting on Vennont Yankee Reload Methodology, we are providing you with background information on several, ecent fuel perfonnance code reviews.
Included are copies of staff questions
'Refs. 1-2) raised on General Electric's GESTR code (Ref. 3) and Babcock
& Wilcox's TACO-2 code (Pef. 4); copies of fuel perfonnance data reports (Refs. 5-10) cited in staff quastions; a copy of our safety evaluation report (Ref.11) on conservatisms in the Westinghouse PAD-3.3 (Ref.12);
and a copy of a recent audit (Ref. IS) of Yankee Atomic Electric Company's GAPEX code (Ref. 14). Although this transmittal is for infonnation only we anticipate questions on the FROSSTEY review to be shilar to those given in the references, and requests for FROSSTEY predictior.s. if any, to be linited to the data herein. Our staff will be available to further discuss this infonnation at our September 1 meeting.
