Subj: Potential 50.55(e) Report GE AKR Circuit Breaker Screws
Dear Mr. Madsen:
On July 14, 1981, Kansas Gas and Electric Company made a telephone report to Mr. W.A. Crossman (NRC) regarding loose and/or bent screws in the closing mechanisms of GE AKR r.ircuit breakers. These screws, when displaced, have the potential for preventing the breaker from closing.
The Architect / Engineer has reviewed and approved the Vendor's inspection and adjustment procedure (GE No. WC-19, Rev. 2 dated 8/6/81) for the GE AKR low voltage power circuit breaker spring and link assemblies.
Startup Field Report (SFR) - NG-2 will be used to document the re-adjustment and/or repairs to the GE AKR 30/50 circuit breaker spring and link assemblies at the Wolf Creek Generating Station Site.
We will submit a report on this inspection and adjustment program on October 16, 1981. Please advise if you need any additional information at this time, gg Yours very truly, f
